How do I set the default stationery in version 8? I've copied my Untitled default stationery into the PowerCADD 8 folder, but that doesn't work. There used to be a preference setting for this, but I can't find it anymore, nor can I find any mention of it in the manual. Surely I'm overlooking something.

Put it in the Stationery folder in the PowerCADD folder. You can put more than one document in there. More info at page 4-29 in the pdf of PowerCADD documentation.

That did it... thanks! If Stationery had been indexed in the manual, I'd have found it and not have asked.

The table of contents is 13 pages long... you'd have to read each entry. Every item that occurs in the table of contents should be indexed, don't you think?

you know Bill, there are times when you would do well to stop and consider before posting cryptic remarks like that. I know the same holds for me as well, but I've got to tell you, when I compare the quality of the pdf documentation files provided by WildTools, for example to the ones provided by PowerCADD, I'm embarrassed for you. Take a look at the attached comparison of the bookmarks in the two files, and try to imagine you were one of your customers searching for help.

A table of contents works by inspection, you have to read every item to know if it is the one you are looking for, in contrast with an index.

And, as a matter of fact, in this particular case, the table of contents gives a page that is close, but not quite correct.

When one of your long-time enthusiasts offers help to another of them, compensating for a deficiency in your documentation, I think your interests would be better served in improving the quality of your product to alleviate the need, rather than sniping at someone for asking an honest question.

This forum has become a place where "improving your workflow" has become a euphemism for "finding a workaround".

I love PowerCADD.

Matt
