Paul Krugman spells out the curious irony of China's monetary policy, and Administration criticism of it on "humanitarian" grounds -- while that policy is fueling the American economy -- for now.

From the article:
"Here's what I think will happen if and when China changes its currency policy, and those cheap loans are no longer available. U.S. interest rates will rise; the housing bubble will probably burst; construction employment and consumer spending will both fall; falling home prices may lead to a wave of bankruptcies. And we'll suddenly wonder why anyone thought financing the budget deficit was easy."
Yup. "We" will wonder about that... |

It's a terrible feeling, to be in one's sixties, to see the "world falling apart," and to wonder how many have little or no idea of what is upon us -- has it always been thus?

Recently I read somewhere about the notion that America changed on 9.11. What was added was chilling: somebody just wrote: did it ? _________________ Richard Haut has worked with the architectural profession for over 25 years and produces the weekly Richard Haut's Competitions, which has given architects details of many thousands of projects for which they can apply across Britain and Europe. |
