Why are we here?
Basking in the bright green aliveness of such a gorgeous Willamette upland spring morning, the question strikes me with a pleasing brush of wonderment. Curling yellow fawn lilies and tiny, purple-crowned fairy slippers poke up beneath the drums and calls of the pileated, amongst jays fluffing their toughness with hoarse little calls copied from the red-tailed hawk overhead. All looks and sounds and smells and feels so connected, interwoven, there's no threat in that perennial existential challenge. ... (continued in PDF)
