Yes, they sure are. There's a couple of things.
For one, all this CO2 we've been emitting is killing our coral reefs, which span across miles. Instead of being the vibrant citrus colors, they are now pale and harbor other organisms minimally, thus causing the extinction of other marine life as well.
This warming is causing our polar ice to melt quicker than before. Well, ice is white and when it melts it becomes deep blue water. Darker colors absorb energy more quickly, so global warming is not just occuring quickly, but it's speeding up.
And not to mention that our ocean currents have slowed and will soon halt. Imaging if the UK froze over. How horrible would that be?
