12th Middle East Corrosion Conference and Exhibition
Under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Fahmi Bin Ali Al Jowder, Minister of Works, and Minister incharge of Electricity & Water Authority, Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bahrain Society of Engineers in association with the Saudi Arabian Section of NACE International is organizing the "12th Middle East Corrosion Conference and Exhibition". This Conference and Exhibition will take place at the Gulf International Convention Center, Gulf Hotel, Bahrain on 3-6 February 2008.
“This is the twelfth conference among a series of successful conferences that began and organized since thirty years ago by the two organizations”. Mr. Abdulmajeed AlGassab, V.P. of the Bahrain Society of Engineers said and added:” This conference has evolved over the past years, keeping pace with the latest developments in the field of corrosion protection and control. It became the ideal channel through which sciences; knowledge and expertise are exchanged among engineers, professionals, academics, manufacturers and users in the region and most part of the world”. Major companies and organizations played substantial role in the success of this event.

Speaking about the technical program, Mr. AlGassab said:” This year we tried to attract the best speakers and professionals from many parts of the world. More than 90 scientific papers will be discussed in three parallel sessions over the three days of the conference. These include cathodic protection, chemical protection, inspection and corrosion control, corrosion researches and imaginative forms, materials and welding, non-metal materials, protective coating, hydrotherapy treatment and chemical cleaning. The conference will be preceded by four technical workshops undertaken by highly qualified professionals. These workshops will discuss respectively: “Compound Repairs”, “Use of ISO 15156 in Hydrosulfate Environment”, “Corrosion Control” and “Plant Comprehensive Management”.
More than 500 delegates from the GCC and other part of the world registered for attending the Technical Sessions. Registration for the Four Pre-conference workshops closed with the available seats i.e. minimum 30 each.
In parallel with the Conference, a technical exhibition will be hosted in which major manufacturers, service providers, users companies and consulting firms will take part from within the region and overseas to display their products and exchange technical and technological expertise and identify the problems that this region is facing in the field of corrosion.
The Conference is expected to attract more than 600 engineers and professionals in addition to more than 40 exhibitors. Hence, this conference is considered the largest of its kind in the Middle East.
