I'm wondering if I have done something to offend someone here. If so, let me apologize in advance.

I have twice made attempts to have my architectural photography site listed in the web directory and even went so far as to try to contact the Editor in Chief three times, without any response. I also added a reciprocal link to my site back to ArchitectureWeek.com.

I also noticed that one of my email addresses was banned from the site, when I tried to create a user profile.

Excuse me for being a little paranoid, but what gives?

Thanks in advance.

Alan

I don't know all the details about your specific situation, but here are a few thoughts.

The ArchitectureWeek Web Directory is a free service, so there is understandably no guarantee of listing, nor a guarantee of any particular response time. Time for listings to appear do vary.

In terms of a banned email address, I'm guessing that refers to DesignCommunity, rather than ArchitectureWeek per se. I'd guess the situation there might be that you tried to register using an email address from one of the large generic free email services, like hotmail, yahoo, or gmail.

Periodically a big clump of spammers with addresses through another one of those services attacks DC, and then we have to ban emails using that domain name from user registration, just to maintain common decency around here.

Not much of a free lunch, but not a lot to be paranoid about either. Just hang in there. Hope that helps.
