I am new on PCadd but I am wondering if is it a bug or not that the door tools cut and trim the lines of the paralle tool but don't do the same with the fill on it? See the pic attached.

Deselect Trim Wall and this will leave both the parallel lines and fill intact but cover these with a clear fill which will appear to have trimmed them

An alternate way to work is to not use the parallel wall tool fill but just the lines. Using the "trim walls" option on the door tool cut the lines and, IMHO, this makes all other work with the walls easier, including exporting to dwg.

I use the PowerCADD fill tool (the paint bucket) to fill the walls with a polygon on a separate lower layer. Then this layer can be turned off in some sheets where a fill is not wanted, and for certain operations where it would be a hindrance, such as dimensioning. Your wall lines have to be connected well and that can be a hassle. Good geometry is always helpful down the line.

There are a couple of tricks to using the paint bucket tool or fixing the resulting polygon as the tool does not work perfectly. One way to clean up a complex polygon made by the tool: draw a small rectangle within the confines of the polygon (but not touching it-e.g. inside one of the "rooms") and use the clip tool from the rectangle to the polygon. This will remove extraneous points and crossover lines. Always set such fills to "None" line fill and hairline thickness (as a precaution).

The behavior is normal.

It's important to remember when you assigned a fill pattern to the parallel line tool, it actually creates three objects

objects 1 and 2 are the lines that define the wall

object 3 is a polygon that has the fill pattern

The Door tool can only trim and heal lines, it cannot modify the underlying polygon. Because you drew the wall and it's filled polygon first, and added the door second, the lines are cut but the polygon cannot be modified by the door (or window) tool. I've attached an exploded picture of a typical condition that shows all the objects in play before inserting the door.

Hence the reason for other work flows being described by others.
