| most granites dont pass the health test in tasmania because they have a small holed texture. people seem to put them in houses quite happily but not in public eateries. |

I like to rub olive oil on mine to keep it looking good and ready for use...that should fill in those micro-holes.

This is one reason why designers are leaning towards other surfaces such as quartz and concrete. Problem is, most concrete countertop installers dont have the experience to do a nice job. Fu Tung Cheng's work is perhaps the best I have seen. Do a search for Cheng countertops.
