I'm organising a lecture series for my university (for this coming academic year) and we've got some very interesting architects coming up to lecture (boyarskymurphy, make, zoo, a senior architect from zaha hadid's practice and one from rogers too, plus GLAS and a few unconfirmed).
Last year i organised an event in a nightclub where richard murphy (probably scotlands best known working architect) talked ad lib to an audience of students and architects while sipping on a beer. there was a makeshift projector putting images onto the wall behind and student work displayed around the place. there was also a 4piece jazz/funk band before and after the talk. the whole thing was packed and went much better than i could have expected.
but now i have to do the official university lecture program, and that kind of thing brings in the audience once in a while but not every other wednesday lunchtime! i want to come up with interesting lecture topics or possibly debates between architects and others from outside the prof.
if anyone has any ideas or has been to any interesting events or lectures then please leave suggestions!
