In an effort to service your world better we are trying to learn as much as we can about your business. Our reasoning is because if we don't understand what makes professionals we work with "tick" we will likely be of little value to them.
To do this, we'd like to pry into your business a little more then we feel comfortable doing when we meet with people face-to-face.
Please take some time to answer some of these questions as they pertain to you and your business.
1) What keeps you motivated to be in your business?
2) How many projects do you expect to take on this year?
3) How do you go to market with your pricing (Ex.: hourly, pages, project)?
4) What type of numbers to you have to hit this year to be where you want to finish you're year
5) Do you specialize in any architectural style or scope of project? If so, what are they?
6) What are your 3 biggest challenges (this may not be business related; it could be having enough time with your family)?
7) What 3 things bog you down the most and if they were not on your plate would allow you to increase productivity & revenues?
Where do your clients come from? Do you actively prospect for them or just sit by the phone & wait for someone to call?
9) How do you set yourself apart from others in your business if a client is interviewing multiple designers before deciding on one?
10) Are there any specific professionals that you almost exclusively recommend your clients use? If so, what do the offer and what is it that makes them special enough for you to lean your clients their way?
11) Do you spend time educating your clients about everything they should be considering when designing their home or let them lead the way; meaning that if they aren't asking for something you generally don't bring it up?
If you feel that answering this information in the forum might divulge too much proprietary information about your company that your competitors might see we understand completely and urge you to respond via PM.
Thank you in advance for thos of you who take the time to answer some or all of these questions.
