Now it seems to want to become translucent, but can't or won't very quickly (if much memory is required) causing me to wait or try to reshape it blindly. |
Many settings options existing in the PReferences dialogs, for example Hide REshape Fill to address your specific comment above (4-22 of the PCD7 manual)
I also posted this article at caddpower.com in 2005 that might also be helpful (login required). It's not a comprehensive article of everything that can be done to tweak performance since those conditions vary for every user and every system configuration. However it may be a good place to start looking for ideas. |

After replacing batteries and the logic board over a two and a half month period with no change to the overnight battery drain problem, Apple gave me a replacement MacBook Pro which now works perfectly.
Powercadd 7 runs fine with OS X.5.2, though there is a stange error message regarding Custom Libraries (until you create a new one and delete the default Test library), Move by Mouse Beeps with each use, and PC7 still beeps on Quit. these are minor things, and I look forward to Powercadd 8 having Quick Look. |

A very important factor, especially concerning price, is: will powercadd 8 benefit from multiple processors, or will it even use more than one processor? If not, I see no reason to update workstations to mac pro quads, and firms will be able to save substantial amounts of money by just getting imacs. |
The issue isn't so much iMac vs MacPro Quad but the max ram, video memory, and card choices on the MacPros.
But then again, current low end iMacs scream compared to an early PowerMac G5. And to be honest are even faster than almost all later G5s.
