I'm pretty certain it doesn't exist...at least not in mass-production. You could always custom make them. But I'm very curious...why glass? Why not glazed which can give a similar finish? Certainly you don't want to be looking at the roof paper....unless something else is up your sleeve and it's being used for a non-roof application. Please, do tell...

Glass roof tile can be used for decorative effects.
Glass has often been used for sky lights, stained glass windows, and for roofs of greenhouse buildings. Why not use decorative glass?
Imagine the visual effects of glass tile at night on a sloped roof over an entry where there is no need for felt paper waterproofing under the tile.
Special attention can be paid to the lighting for various effects.

You have probably seen glass block walls with various back-lighting. If we can make the wall of glass, why not the roof.

If we can make arches out of stone, then we can make arches out of ice. If we can make arches out of ice, then we can make arches out of glass.
If we choose to, we can make the entire house out of glass. The glass can be sandblasted or moulded to create various textures and translucence or opaqueness. It can be colored as shown on the website.
We can simulate glass using various polymers, such as acrylic "glass" blocks. See the Chihuly polymer sculpture at the University of Akron (Ohio, USA)

One reason we don't see more glass block, brick, roof tiles, etc. is because of the expense.
We may see a future with photovoltaic glass or polymer shingles.

Thanks JW...that was a well thought out response and you have certainly made a very compelling case. I do not disagree with your line of reasoning, however I wish to nitpick on the specifics of the idea of glass roof tile; I was thinking solely of an exterior application over a true watershedding sloped roof. I should not have assumed this was the case, as there are indeed some fantastic ideas that can be centered around the notion of a glass roof tile, particularly as a purely decorative element, ie. interior design. However, as a functioning roof tile, it makes little sense particularly in performance when compared to other materials and in relation to construction methods. But I digress...I do prefer to think of the possibilities and how this element could be used...even as an exterior application.

what about solar glare/gain? how would you seal this type of roof from leaking? for what good is a roof that leaks?

Here is a web site showing clay roofing tile in combination with what appears to be glass tile of a similar design. The glass tile would function as both roofing and skylight. I could not verify that the tile is actually glass, but there is no reason that it could not be.

Because of the sharp edges of broken glass the tile would have to be either tempered glass, wire glass, or laminated glass.
Wire glass has been an option for years as seen in doors and skylights.
Here is an example of glazed photo voltaic roof slate. They are similar in appearance to traditional roof slate. Note the cost per square (100 square feet) (about 3 meters by 3 meters). These are based on a cement fiber product. I see no reason, except for cost that similar tile could not be made from art glass, stained glass, or acrylic simulating glass.

The design possibilities for exterior and interior are limitless. We already have glass wall tile, glass floor tile, glass block walls, and glass wash basins. Why not glass roof tiles?
