Hi, I'd be very grateful for some advice on a cost effective software package for PC use for personal use in the design of an extension and other miscellaneous home developments. We know pretty much what we want to build but would like to develop 2D plans for a planning application to the local authority, and to support the build stage of the project. A 3D walk through facility would be useful, and the package would need to run on a PC. One of us is used to operating engineering software so it doesn't need to be too noddy. Must do metric dimensioning. Many thanks to anyone for advice.
