Industrial Building Conversions

Postby benanna88 » Fri Jan 28, 2011 6:41 am

Hi everyone,

I am working on an assignment at the moment looking at award winning and leading edge conversions of industrial buildings to other uses, but I'm struggling to find good examples.

I only need 3 examples, but 2 need to be low rise with portal frame, at least 1 converted to residential use, and at least one Australian building.

They need to be fairly well known so that there is enough information on them, such as a before photo and if possible, plans, elevations, etc.

I have already found a few, including the Tate Modern museum which I will most likely use, but the others I have don't all fit into the categories I mentioned above.

So if you know of any or have come across an example I could use, please post the name or a link, or whatever you can.

Thanks in advance,

Ben

This is one interesting example - a conversion from industrial to educational:
